Mission and Vision Part 4: Become
Chris told us on Day 1 that
“…practice makes permanent.”
And, John Ortberg reminded us that:
Trying hard can accomplish only so much. If you are serious, you will have to enter into a life of training.
—The Life You’ve Always Wanted
So, we are becoming people of practice and people who are in training. We’ve called ourselves Apprentices to Jesus. Now, as an apprentice who is eager to learn the way of the Master—evaluate yourself again by looking at the Life Audit you did on Day 1. In the days since then:
- What new liturgies have you tried?
- What happened as a result?
- If you were to continue to implement new and better practices (liturgies), what would be the result?
As we conclude the devotions for this week, read out loud these verses again:
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
Philippians 1:6 (NLT)
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2 (NASB95)
Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
Matthew 7:24 (NASB95)
